World Food Safety Day

World Food Safety Day is observed annually on June 7. The United Nations declared the observance in 2018 and it is jointly facilitated by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). World Food Safety Day aims to draw attention to and inspire action to help prevent, detect, and manage foodborne risks contributing to food security, human health, economic prosperity, agriculture, market access, tourism, and sustainable development.

Join us on June 3, 2025 for Science on the Frontline: Voices of Global Food Safety Professionals, a global roundtable spotlighting the real-world work of food safety regulators from across the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, and Dubai. In a time of shifting responsibilities and reduced federal oversight, these professionals are stepping up with science-driven solutions to keep our food supply safe. Through candid conversations and frontline insights, we’ll explore how practical innovation, international collaboration, and workforce development are shaping the future of retail food safety. Don't miss this opportunity to hear from those protecting public health daily.
